Our organisation
Volontariat International au Service des Autres, l’Année Diaconale (VISA-AD), is a Protestant association, accredited as a national Youth and People’s Education supplier, engaging in all genres of volunteering since 1959, including Service Civique, International Service Civique, European Solidarity Corps and Internationaler Jugendfreiwilligendienst.
VISA-AD develops long term voluntary missions in the areas of social action, education, solidarity, culture, the environment and health.
VISA-AD organises the recruitment, guidance, support and training of young people who undertake to serve as volunteers in public interest missions under one of these categories, within a partner organisation for about ten months.
In the same way, we help associations to set up projects to host volunteers within their organisation.
VISA-AD bases its action on the values of its Christian background and of public education. It develops, in conjunction with organisations, a high-quality network that guarantees respect for good volunteering practices, and expresses its volunteering policy through its choices: long-term missions, civic and citizenship training, follow-up and support for young people for their projects, a policy of autonomy that aims to empower volunteers in their lives.
Based in Strasbourg, VISA-AD manages an operation that reaches across Europe and beyond.
